Richard Ford is an American writer of fiction novels and short stories. He is mostly known for his novel, The Sportswriter and the sequel, Independence Day. His short stories are featured in his collection Rock Springs.
Book Review:Frank Bascombe is divorced and working in a mundane job. His life is completely sedentary until he meets Vicki, a nurse to whom he hopes he will marry. His wishes only make matters worse as his past is brought back to haunt him. Richard Ford won the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for the sequel to this book, Independence Day.
