Richard Bach was born on June 23, 1936 in Illinois, USA. Bach has chosen flight as a recurrent theme to his books. Flight is featured in one way or another in all his books. It has been his life as he served in the New Jersey Air National Guard. He was a technical writer for Douglas Aircraft and wrote articles for Aircraft. The Bridge Across Forever and One are connected in that they are both concerned with soulmates. Both books deal with the relationship between Bach and his wife of the time, Leslie Parrish.
