Picture of Piers Anthony Piers Anthony Dillingham Jacob was born in Oxford, England in August 1934.

His family emigrated to America in 1940.
Anthony graduated from Goddard College, Vermont in 1956.

After a short term in the army and teaching, Anthony concentrated on writing full-time.

Chthon was published in 1967 and the first Xanth book, A Spell for Chameleon in 1977. The Xanth series is his most known work.

Phased Doubt is the seventh, and last book in the Apprentice Adept series.

Serpent's Silver is the second in the Kelvin of Rud series.

Shade of the Tree is a horror story of an inheritance going bad.
